Creativity

New media fosters creativity because in the article in the New York Times "Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why? talks about how someone took Winnie the Pooh episode and the video "Crank that" by Soulja Boy  and mash it up together and made Winnie the Pool into a rapper. It was funny and that's why it had so many hits. This is creativity even though it wasn't someone actual work but it took some creativity to put it all together and actually making Winnie the Pool, Bambi, and Simba dance to "Crank that" by  Soulja Boy

Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

The different ways that these virtual world can be used for many things, can be used for design something in 3D, make a sculpture of some kind, create a world in which you or someone has always imagine in living in. The pros are creating something different, make your reality become to life, however, the cons are some people wouldn't like this idea. What seems to you as art, to others made seem something else. Creativity is being created but in a virtual world, maybe what you create in a virtual world cant be made in real life. The future of the virtual world is going to continue increasing and be use more as the future continues. In the next 50 years I can see people living in a virtual world themselves and flying virtual cars. In the article in the New York Times " In Room 100, It's Sid and Nancy All Over Again", Micheal Brown created a 3D virtual hotel where Nancy was killed in room 100, the rest of this hotel is as close to real life as I could make it. You can actually check in if you login into the virtual world and check into the hotel. In the second article in The Washington Post " At Hearing, Real and Virtual Worlds Collide", talks about how they used the audience and projected it into a virtual world where they would see how it plays out in the virtual world.

social networking

Social networking is a great tool to connect with your friends and family. First there was Myspace where it was cool while it lasted, but everyone was on it to connect with their friends and family. Than came Facebook where almost everyone has an account. On Facebook was can see what are friends are up to and post our status on how our day is going on so far, post pictures and so on. Than came Twitter which is basically the same but a little more challenging. I personally have join all these social networking to keep in touch with my friends from middle school and high school and see how they are doing and also to keep in contact with my family in Dominican Republic. At the end of the day they are all the same, but with there own unique access.
